Wait, I got it – hold on a second, lets reset.

Frankenstein’s Castle
When Jessica told me to start looking for things to see while I was in Germany I came across Frankenstein’s Castle. You know, the castle that was the supposed inspiration for Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein. Who could pass that up? I was really looking forward to that, but when I got to Germany and started looking deeper, it seemed like this was just another tourist trap. Yes a castle, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do it. Luckily, doing a deeper dive into Google I discovered yet another Frankenstein Castle, in the actual town of Frankenstein. But this one was an hour further than the other, and I was still getting used to the train schedules. Luckily one of our weekend jaunts busted so Jessica and Arik fit in the trip for us to go. As I write this, I still could have done the other one and compared the two, but ya, I just thought about it after 4 months? LOL! Anyway, enough of my ramblings – on with the pictures.
About an hour and a half south of Frankfurt is the small municipality of Frankenstein, Rhineland-Palatinate. Sitting on a hill above is the ruins of Frankenstein Castle. Not really a lot of info on the web about it, there was at the site, but hey, that was 4 months ago and I don’t remember most of it. It was built around the 1100’s and had been occupied until about 1560.
